Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you;
I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Matthew 19:14

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

  • If we pushed the chairs back into a circle we wouldn’t agree on any of these issues
  • Legalize Pot, Immigration, Climate Control, Gun Control, School Shootings
  • Why human trafficking in this group?
  • Who is right or wrong? No universal correct answer that everyone can agree on
 1. We Christians should make all of our decisions based on biblical principles.
  • Separation of church and state – mind of Christ (I Corinth. 2:16)
  • Our country makes its decisions based on lust, pain and fear not morals
  • Lust – There are people careers making us want what we don’t want (sex, $, see)
  • Pain – pain avoidance (physical, mental, if you don’t do this then this will happen)
  • Fear – is the fear of man

 2. Fear of “man” interferes with the fear of God.
  • Fear of man is: opinions, what people think about us and political correctness
  • Fear the bear!
3. What we fear and respect will show itself when a problem
  • Jesus and Pilate the governor. “Are You the King of the Jews?” His wife – “just Man”
  • Barabbas – Water and washed his hands – “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person.
 4. When we believe the fear/lie we give our power over to it.
  • Threaten to tell Caesar another King – feared man more than God

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

  • Fear of man paralyzes us – fear of loved ones, family, friends and job (like the bear)

Luke 14:26

“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.

Matthew 10:35-38

35 For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36 and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’  37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.

  • There is a promise in there – finding life

Luke 18:29

So He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, 30 who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life.”

  • Present time and eternal – faith piece
  • Personal experience – Bull
  1. We need more of God’s power to do what He said.

2 Timothy 1:6-7

Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths

1 John 4:16 l

So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

GAY MARRIAGE IS LEGAL IN ALL 50 STATES: 6/26/15 AT 10:07 AM The Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage in the United States. In the 5-4 landmark decision, Obergefell v. Hodges the justices ruled that states must license same-sex marriages and also recognize gay marriages performed legally in other states. The decision rested in part on the court’s interpretation of the 14th Amendment; the justices ruled that limiting marriage only to heterosexual couples violates the 14th amendment’s guarantee of equal protection under the law.

Pew Research

  • By a margin of nearly two-to-one (62% to 32%), more Americans now say they favor allowing gays and lesbians to marry than say they are opposed.
  • Shift since 2010, more Americans opposed (48%) than favored (42%) allowing gays and lesbians to marry legally.
  • In the past year alone, support has increased seven percentage points: In March 2016, 55% favored same-sex marriage, while 37% were opposed.
  • Republicans. For the first time in history, a majority of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents do not oppose allowing gays and lesbians to marry legally.

Genesis 2:24 – Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

 Ephesians 5:31

“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”

 Matthew 19:4-6

“Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ 5and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh? 6So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

The Supreme Court legalized abortion 45 years ago on January 22, 1973 and it, is still being fought over, with advocates from either side of the issue arguing for their cause. The landmark Roe v. Wade affirming the right that women have to privacy, as granted by the 14th Amendment, (again) which extends to medical decisions including abortions. Since then, however, numerous laws have been enacted at the state level restricting some or giving access to abortions.

Center for Disease Control (CDC)

For the purpose of surveillance, a legal induced abortion is defined as an intervention performed by a licensed clinician (e.g., a physician, nurse-midwife, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant) that is intended to terminate an ongoing pregnancy. Medical abortions are legal procedures that use medications instead of surgery.
